Every Christmas, my mum always puts together little gift boxes of different products and this year she made one with products from the hair care range, Argan Oil. I wasn't familiar with this brand until now and after doing some research, I was so surprised to find out how affordable the products were considering how fantastic they work with my hair. Just like my skin, my hair can get really dry when it wants to and so this range is absolutely perfect for me given that all of the products contain Argan oil, hence the name.

I love hair masks and I'm always open to trying out new ones, so I was overjoyed when I saw this in the bundle. I am so impressed with this one because once I wash it out, my hair is left feeling so hydrated and soft. It also feels so much easier to work with when drying and styling. I've used it three times since Christmas and now that the product is starting to disappear more and more, I'm really savouring every last drop until I find some more.

These are the biggest bottles of Shampoo and Conditioner I have ever seen in my life, and boy do I need them with my hair! I've noticed that all the products in this range smell absolutely fantastic, especially the Shampoo and Conditioner. Once again, my hair feels amazing after using these and they really do what it says on the packaging. I used the Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask tonight and my hair feels and looks absolutely wonderful. These are definitely my three favourite products from the range right now.

I know this sounds really bad, but honestly, I'm not the loyalist person when it comes to protecting my hair against heat. Its a step in my routine that I always forget and I don't see why considering I regularly use hot tongs on my hair. However, I really want to get into a good routine of looking after my hair more and this heat defence spray is going to really help me start out, hopefully.

As well as hair masks, I am also a big fan of hair oils, especially because my hair can get relatively dry when its having its bad days. The oil in the little brown bottle claims to be an 'intensive hydrating treatment' and I completely agree that it is just that. Only the tiniest bit of product is required as the oil is so rich and hydrating. Too much product would definitely leave your hair feeling and looking a like an oily mess, which is never a good look. I imagine this little bottle will last me a long time as the richness of the oil means that its not going to be something I use after every wash and more when my hair needs some deep treatment every now and then.

The final product I've been testing the waters with is another hair treatment, which is very similar to the one above. I haven't noticed many differences between the two products, however, the oil above is a lot heavier and richer than this one as this treatment feels much more lighter on my hair. I don't feel as though I have to be so careful with this one. I have really bad dry ends at the moment as my hair is in desperate need of a trim, however, both treatments have really helped make the ends look somewhat not so dead until I find time to sort them out. This one also has a tiny nozzle that the product comes out of so its so much easier to control how much product you want compared to the other one which is just an open cap. One limitation to both products however is that fact that they both leave either sticky or oily residue on my hands, so I always need to make sure I have a tissue or baby wipe on hand before I use them.

A couple of days ago I wrote a blog post featuring a couple of new Simple products that I have been testing out recently and because I received quite a lot of them this Christmas, I decided to split them into two posts. The products in this one are the Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash, Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water, Kind To Skin Eye Makeup Remover, Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Scrub and the Kind to Skin Refreshing Shower Gel.

I absolutely love Micellar Cleansing Waters and was so excited to see this in my new little collection. I have used the Garnier one several times even though I seem to have never wrote a blog post about it. I'm not a lover of makeup wipes and only use them when I have to, I much prefer to use micellar waters and cleansing oils. This one by Simple is fantastic as it removes all impurities so easily from the skin whilst leaving it feeling clean and rejuvenated, ready for the next steps in your routine. It's also really affordable, currently priced at £2.19 in Superdrug.

The next product is the Smoothing Facial Scrub and this may not come as much of a surprise, but boy do I love it. It's so hard to find a good quality face scrub that has just the right amount of grittiness as I have had a few awful ones in the past that just feel like an everyday facial wash with a bit of sugar in it, but this one has completely changed my perspective. The one downside is the size of the tube as it is a tad small, but to be fair, you shouldn't be exfoliating your face very often anyways as over exfoliating can have some really bad effects on the skin. I imagine this little thing could last a lot longer than I first anticipated.

I'm not a big user of eye makeup removers and only use them when I have been given them like this one, even though I normally end up loving the products. I am sometimes just so lazy with my skincare routine and always end up removing my eye makeup with the same product I use for the rest of my face. However, for those who do use eye makeup removers, I would fully recommend trying it out. It removes the hardest and most stubborn bits of makeup so easily and I was incredibly impressed with it when I used it for the first time. I definitely think this would do a fantastic job at removing waterproof eye makeup, but since I have not yet tried it, I can not vouch too soon.

For some reason, I have never been drawn to the Simple body wash as I generally opt for the scented body washes and this one doesn't have much going for it in terms of scent. However, its a great option for those who aren't into scents and prefer the non-scented ones. I don't have much to say about this product as its just a body wash and I'm sure people would much rather read about more interesting products, but all in all, it does its job and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry nor irritated.

If you have read a few of my skincare posts, you will already be aware that my skin is generally more prone to being dry rather than oily, however there are times, especially in the Summer when certain areas of my skin will start to build up a little more oil than is necessary. Before Winter, my skin was becoming more oily than dry which was really surprising to me but then once the winter months came around, it soon went back to normal. I would have loved to have used something like the Oil Balancing Wash because although I haven't seen the full effects of it quite yet since my skin has stopped being so oily, I am still really impressed and would definitely recommend, especially if you have a lot of acne arising as the wash contains witch hazel which is fantastic for reducing them.

I love trying out new Simple products because it is such a fantastic high street skincare brand, which I have been using for years and years. I actually think it was one of the first brands I used when I started to take an interest in makeup and skincare. My favourite thing about their products is the fact that they are so pure and good for your skin as they have no artificial perfume or colours, no harsh chemicals, and generally contain a range of Multi-Vitamins and 'skin loving ingredients' including Glycerin, Allantoin and Bisabolol. My mum got me a whole bunch of new products this Christmas that I haven't yet tried out and I have been dying to write up a blog post about them. There were quite a few in the box that are brand new to me and so I decided to split them into two posts. I kept all the creams in this one and in the one which will be posted shortly after this, I feature cleansers, makeup removers and face scrubs.

I've had the cleansing lotion before but for some reason never wrote a proper review on it. I remember writing a Simple blog post last Christmas which you can find here, but I never actually shared my thoughts on the products. The cleansing lotion is fantastic for those cold winter months or even if you have dry skin in general because it removes all impurities from the skin, whilst still ensuring the skin remains hydrated. All you need to do is squeeze a little product onto a cotton pad and apply like you would apply any cleanser or toner. I prefer to use this when I haven't been wearing makeup as I much prefer to use other cleansing products to remove makeup.

When my skin is feeling relatively normal, which typically happens when the weather starts to get warmer, I generally opt for a Simple face cream as their formulas are always light, yet still extremely moisturising and replenishing. However, I'm not sure if I would say that I was the biggest fan of these two. They both leave a greasy residue which isn't the nicest feeling, even if you have dry skin. This also means that they take FOREVER to soak in, which is expected with the night cream as they tend to be heavier, but its not something I expect with a day cream. I want a day cream that will soak in relatively quickly so that my skin is well prepared for makeup, but this does quite the opposite. I've also found that the day cream stings my eyes and makes them water, so I have to be extremely careful when I'm near my eye area. 

My least favourite of the four is definitely the Replenishing Rich Moisturiser, primarily because of the misleading name. It claims to be a 'rich' moisturiser which you would assume delivers heavy-duty hydration, yet personally, I haven't felt like my skin has received this. Although still a fantastic light moisturiser, I wouldn't necessarily use it when my skin is in need of some deep hydration. The consistency is very light which means that it gives instant moisture to the skin and it also doesn't leave sticky or greasy residue unlike the two above, so its perfect for using before doing makeup.

I have way too many eyeshadow palettes, more than the average person! But whats one more, right? I was scrolling through the Superdrug site recently, looking out for their boxing day deals, when I came across the prettiest eyeshadow palette I have ever seen in my entire life. It even looked appealing on the website, which is very surprising given that retailers aren't the best at taking photos that show you exactly what the products look like. Whats more, it was also priced at £4.99. How could I pass up on a bargain like that?

All of the shades are incredibly stunning and very well pigmented starting from four base shades on the far left, then eight mattes, eight shimmers, and four brow shades. Every single shadow in the palettes are shades that I normally find myself using so its so nice that I've finally found a palette where I could see myself wearing every single shade. Right now, I am very comfortable with my Revolution HD Brows palette and so find no need to use the four brow shades, but its nice knowing that I have a different option whenever I'm in the mood to change it up. However, they could just as easily be used as shadows.

The brushes that came in the kit are also fantastic, which is no surprise seen as though everything else is. The Pro HD Eye Brush is great for the crease as it is small enough to blend the shadow right into the crevice, therefore creating a darker and more dramatic look. It's then also soft enough to be able to blend the colour out if you are wanting to go for a smokier finish. The flat brush, although too small to use as my main brush for applying the base colours for my liking, became very useful for packing on colour on the tear duct, on the brow bone, and below the lash line. Finally, its always nice to have an angled brush or two as they have many uses, especially for filling in brows and applying eyeliner.

I absolutely love Elemis but their products can be so expensive, even when they're on offer! However, this Christmas I received a little gift set from my Dad and was overjoyed when I started using it. The gift set contained a Soothing Apricot Toner, Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, White Lotus & Lime Bath & Shower Nectar, White Lotus & Lime Body Balm, and a White Lotus & Lime Hand & Nail Cream. The products came beautifully packaged in a golden box which is definitely too pretty to throw away.

All of the products are incredible and you can definitely tell that its a high end brand. It's always nice to have some good quality, high end skincare products because its so important to take care of your skin, especially when you're young as it will have long term impacts which will affect your skin once you start getting older and it becomes thinner and more easily prone to wrinkles and damages. I have always been taught to never use cheap products on my face and so that is what I have stuck to ever since I was little. 

I love cleansing oils, especially in the Winter because my skin can get very dry when it wants to and so whilst cleansing oils deeply cleanse the skin and get rid of all traces of makeup and grime, they also ensure that your skin remains hydrated. This Elemis one certainly does whats promised and I will be very disappointed the day I use up the full bottle. The toner is also incredible for revitalising the skin, as well as the face cream which is definitely one of the best I have ever used in my life. 

All of the creams are deeply replenishing and moisturising, which is perfect given the time of the year. I've used the Marine Cream and Soothing Apricot Toner in the past and was very impressed with the results, so it was so nice to finally have my own. The Bath & Shower Nectar, Body Balm and Hand Cream in Lotus & Lime are also new products to the brand. It's nice to try some of their new products rather than having ones I have already used before. It also means that I can write a blog post based on my first impressions. I absolutely adore the scent of them which is definitely very awakening given the freshness of the lotus and lime.
